DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants can be used to replace a missing tooth or teeth, and can have a high success rate of over 96%. Dental implants can also be used to secure dentures, for people who are having trouble wearing conventional dentures.

Our team of qualified periodontists will initially determine whether dental implants are the best treatment option for you. This will involve a detailed clinical examination and more detailed radiographs (x-rays) to assess the bone.

Why use dental implants?

Tooth decay, trauma, and periodontitis can result in tooth loss. Dental implants can be used to replace a missing tooth or teeth, to restore a natural appearance and function.

Dental Implant Surgery

A dental implant is a biologically compatible screw made of commercially pure titanium. This integrates into the bone and provides a foundation to support a crown, bridge or denture.

Dental implants are commonly placed at the practice under local anaesthesia. After a suitable healing period, you will be returned to your restoring dentist or prosthodontist for the final restoration.

Since they were developed in the 1960s, the use of dental implants have been rigorously investigated. There have been long-term studies into implant solutions for over 15 years, which clearly confirm the high success rate of over 96%.

Note: Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek advice from an appropriately qualified health practitioner
