


OUR PERIODONTISTS
A periodontist is a dental specialist with expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease, gum surgery and the placement of dental implants.
Periodontists receive extensive training in these areas, including three additional years of full time university education beyond the initial undergraduate dental degree. Our periodontists are all registered specialists with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA), with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Dr Rachel Garraway
Dr Garraway graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Hons) in 1992. She worked in private practice before specialty training in periodontics.
Dr Jennifer Kraatz
Dr Kraatz graduated as a dentist from Griffith University in 2009. Prior to commencing her periodontal specialist training she worked in both the private and public sectors in Queensland and Tasmania.
Dr Richard Grant-Thomson
Serving in the Royal Australia Air Force for a decade as a Dental Officer, Dr Richard has been a qualified specialist in periodontics since 2002 and is one of the Principle Periodontists at Perio Care.
Dr Amro Farag
Dr Farag graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2003 from Cairo University followed by postgraduate training in periodontics in 2010. After moving to Australia in 2011, Amro commenced his PhD at Griffith University
Dr Peter Chen
Dr Chen graduated in 2007 from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Science (Hons). He worked as a general dentist for 5 years before starting his post graduate in periodontics.
